I think it was little things like beating P4P Barrera (who a lot more people knew about than Marquez, which makes him a much better fighter according to your logic), hanging so tough with Pacquiao in the rematch (and the first one if we are being honest), moving up to lightweight and taking out the lineal champion Casamayor by KO, and then beating up on Juan Diaz.

But... you know. Not that good of a fighter, so...

A long time ago he beat a top P4P guy named Barrera, thats before Pac was even rated. I'm saying that since he actually became a top P4P guy himself, he hasn't faced any top P4P fighters but Marquez.

Yes Marquez is a good fighter but #2 P4P when he got humiliated by Chris John? Based on what P4P list did you get this list from? Theres dozens of them and millions if you talk to peoples opinion.

Barrera, Morales, Cotto, and Hatton, used and abused my friend, long before Pac got to them. With the exception of Pac's 1st fight with Barrera, none should of been on anybody's top 10 P4P list.

Seriously, its true, Marquez is the only top P4P guy that Pac actually fought. And Marquez whipped his azz twice. Close fights, Pac had his moments, but Marquez had more moments though he didn't get the wins. MAB,EM, those guys are rated highly but they were never imo, top P4P. Some of you may disagree with that but thats my opinion.

As long as Pac has been a commodity in the sport Floyd and Hopkins have sat on top of that P4P list. Pac only got there when Floyd retired and off the strength of his close call with Marquez and a truly shot ODLH.

Now I'm not about to put down any Pac opponents they fought him and got beat. But to be P4P #1, shouldn't you have to fight and beat guys at the top of that list convincingly? (at least when they are near and within your weight class) I dont have a current top 10 P4P list at hand, but I bet none of the guys Pac has fought the past 2-3 years but Marquez, is on it.

Another question: If Mayweather comes back from retirement and beats P4P #2 amd #3, doesn't that automatically makes him #1? If not, then justify why Pac is #1?

Both Hatton and Cotto were P4P rated. Not in the top 5, but they were both around the 8 level or so.

I haven't seen the John fight, but have heard from quite a few people that the decision was pretty lame.

Cotto's so-called winning streak was against Michael Jennings (ummm...) and a razor thin fight against Clottey. Before that, he was beaten by Margarito. Marquez was higher rated P4P, because his only loss for a long ass time was razor thin against Pacquiao. If you rate Cotto over Marquez based on that, I don't know what to tell you, I guess we'll just agree to disagree.
