there was no drugs or anything involved in this fight, it was just one of many tragic occasions in boxing, the damage may have been done to McClellan before the benn fight anyway, like many of these conditions it's usually the accumulation of punches over a fighters career that causes the real damage, it may have just been a ticking time bomb waitng to go off

Not for nothing I'd say Gerald isnt very bright.. Gerald McClellan is a piece of crap.. ANy of you who own animals know what I'm talking about!! Children and animals are the ultimate form of innocence in this world. People who exploit that are sick!! For what it's worth if they fought now I'd guarantee a Sturm victory

I was there for the first fight in the 88 Nationals when Frank gave Roy an 8 count with a BOOMING right hook. That is the only time as an amateur I know of RJ getting an 8 count. ]

They fought twice more at the Trials and RJ won both

but back to the subject, Gerald McClellan was the victim of 20+ rabbit punches vs. Benn, the ref from that fight should be burned at the stake for allowing the British fighter to foul repeatedly to get back in the fight, it was maybe the saddest night in boxing over the past 20 years
