Myth: A "Fat" Marquez vs. Mayweather

Can someone explain to me this myth that Marquez was Fat vs Mayweather. I mean how does a guy go from 135 to 142 and gets fat in the process? I whole 7 pounds!!! I'm sure most real boxing fans have a copy of this fight and unless your blind or just a biased *******, I dont see a "Fat" Marquez. I see a guy that is shorter than Mayweather but still very strong, stout, durable, and solidly built. 142 didn't make Marquez fat or slow, he has always been slower than Floyd, he has always been shorter than Floyd, he has always had a shorter reach than Floyd.

So basically stop making excuses by insulting Marquez, calling him fat, old, slow, etc...Floyd has had 40 fights has he not outsped every opponent regardless of their age and conditioning? Was Chico old fat and slow? Was Zab old fat and slow? Was Hatton, Old fat and slow? Was Castillo Old Fat and Slow?

My guess is that Marquez would of done a lot better vs Pacquiao at 142 on that night than he would vs Mayweather at any weight.

And here's the deal, I can care less who looked stronger. Floyd looked like the better all around fighter period. JMM's weight wasn't an issue to me it was just his fighting style, strategy, inability to land a punch. Weight or who looks stronger doesn't determine who wins or loses.

Anyway, you brought up Duran for moving up in weight. You know he was fat in nearly all his WW fights, and he was fat in every single fight after WW from 154 to 175.

Marquez was also not in his best fighting shape. He wasn't fat, compared to some Fat Yank at Burger King, but he was not in optimum fighting shape and had too many extra pounds on his body and he looked out of shape compared to the rest of his career. Not hard to figure out.

Mayweather was/is above Marquez skill level and not a final verdict of how well he would do vs an average welterweight. Lets see what JMM does next, I'm sure whatever it is its at 140+
