Where is the proof he ducked Johnston? Show me. How did he duck him? What means that he ducked him, what? Please show me.

Anyway, Stevie and Floyd did not fight cause Floyd himself said that he did not want to fight a southpaw with Stevie skillset at that point in his career. That had nothing to do with money, venue, or fame. He chose not to fight cause of a stlye and skillset. That is a duck.

Spadafora gave Floyd all he could handle in sparring (yes sparring, I know a fight is different), that is when all the insults from Paul started. After the Spadafora/Manfredy fight, Paul called for Floyd long and loud. He stated that he could no longer make the weight, and he needed to fight Floyd now! That was after waiting for Floyd to make up his mind. Well the rest is history. To me, that was a duck. Hatton makes a joke at Floyd's expenese, and he gets a fight. Spadafora in as many words called Floyd a *****, claimed he knocked him down twice (Floyd never said it didn't happen), said he would expose Floyd. Now i'm not saying that all that would have happened, but by the TS's logic, Floyd should have been all over that....Correct?

      Lastly....

      Try staying on topic Burner.

Paul Williams has nothing to do with this. You breakdown what I have stated, and then maybe you can get your question answered.
If I remember correctly.....Roger came out and said "my nephew isn't ready for a southpaw yet"...So it was Floyd and his trainer who ducked the fight.

He gets away with it against other brawler like Margarito but will get his @ss handed to him if he faces a Mosley/Pavlik or Floyd Mayweather. You can't come at fighters like that with such a basic game plan point blank.

Those guys would either counter or tie him up, disrupt his rhythm, and then pick him apart.
even against margarito william's style didnt work out quite so well as margarito was able to come back and win rounds in the 2nd half of the fight. just woke up too late and ran out of rounds.

So show me where Floyd ducked him. This is not proof. This is you just telling me he called Floyd out.

NO you cant tell that, cause I've watched and followed this sport for many decades, Johnson was a good lil fighter and matching him up with Floyd was mentioned but never IN DEMAND. No more demand than a fight with Casamayor or Frietas. A fight in higher demand was Floyd-Nas, that is the only fight that was IN DEMAND that didn't happen, these other guys names where just thrown around by the media. All the while Floyd made it clear that he wanted Nas, then on to Mosley, and De La Hoya at 147.

No one complained about those ambitions.

Well I can see you didn't follow Floyds career like you say....

First off, Stevie was the man (with the WBC belt, you know, the one Floyd loves). They were in talks for about 6 months. Floyd turned down the fight (see reasons in my other post). Stevie went on to fight Castillo (they were the top three in the division). The rest is history. Floyd went after Castillio, and never gave Stevie his shot.

P.S. That fight was in huge demand at the time.

It's not my job to educate new fans of the sport. Show some humility and acknowledge that you don't know. Only them will I proceed to educate you on the subject.

I say this because it kills me to see people beat their chest claiming they know this or that yet are the dumbest/most ignorate fans of the sport. Again Humility and showing actually have no idea about what happened because you weren't following boxing then goes a long way.

So because he won rounds that means Williams style didnt work well?

The mosley fight only happened because he has no one else after the Pac fight went down. Floyd was talking **** about his 5 loses etc... so really if he wins, then it doesn;t count much because he is small.
Broke? The man made 1.4 million last year betting on basketball alone.

Boxing was dead without Floyd because Manny was the only superstar. Floyd came back and boxing has been all over the media. Negative publicity is good publicity.

2010 is going to be a great year for boxing.

Wrong, Floyd Sr. Called from Jail and said dont put my son in with a southpaw, however, that was years earlier, way before Johnson was in the picture. And for your info, the best pure boxer southpaws were considered to be Judah and Mitchell who Floyd beat, did he not?
