He is not the greatest Defensive fighter of all time

But I will say that he probably belongs in the top 5 of all time. Sweet Pea will probably go down as the best boxer who knew how to make people miss by avoiding punches. Floyd comes off as being a safety first fighter, much like how Roy Jone was in his prime. Being "safety first" mainly means that they wont risk fighting on the inside for fear of getting hit by something they dont see, which is why both Floyd and Roy never wasted much time learning how to fight on the inside, most of their defense was mainly creating space between themselves and their opponent while useing their handspeed to outpoint their opponents. Sweet Pea on the other hand was a genius at fighting on the inside and being able to slip, counter, lead work off the jab to get inside while also making his opponent miss and makeing them pay. So with saying that Floyd and Roy goes down as to of the greatest safety first fighters but Sweet Pea would have to go down as the greatest Defensive fighter that I have seen. And to be honest, Sweet Pea was a well rounded all around boxer who could do it all offensively. He just didnt have 1 punch knockout out power..

Man you guys are some ****ing haters. Floyd has the best defense in boxing history. Check out this gif below

Reporter: Floyd, why didn't you fight Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto when you had the chance?

Floyd: <----- Look at this perfectly executed shoulder roll. The up and down movement and how he shook of that reporter is amazing.

That is not true. Floyd is one of the best INSIDE fighters in boxing. His defense is even better on the inside. Hes still hard to hit. Watch him on the inside in this fight and watch his defense.
