    i didn't say that's the only reason. i never said floyd doesn't have good d. he does.

    maybe i misspoke.

    let me clarify.

    floyd's d might look better in comparison to pea's because of who they fought.

    a lot easier to look good against hatton , gatti , baldomir , etc. than it is to look good against chavez , mcgirt , etc.

    how often did hatton hit pac? he could barely touch pac either. you telling me pac is some great defensive fighter?

      Lets talk boxing. Enough of the bull****. Like I asked Tua. Who was harder to hit Sweet Pea or Roy? Now ask yourself is Roy a GREAT defensive fighter. NOPE. He had great REFLEXES.

      Now in Sweet Peas case he used his REFLEXES alot but he did have textbook D as well. I think Floyd has the greatest defesne ever because hes rarely hit. Let alone hit flush.

      You can have him on the ropes and miss.

      You can be thisclose and miss.

      He can have his hands at his waist and make you miss.

      He doesnt even have to throw punches to knock you down.

      His defense is amazing. If you would take off the "Floyd Hate troll" glasses and actually WATCH Mayweather you would see that.

      He knows what punch his opponent will throw before THEY do.

      so you're saying that Floyd is more of a textbook defensive fighter that doesn't rely on reflex as much as Pernell or Roy?

                  You know if the internet were around when Pernell was fighting in his prime, 95 percent of this board would call his defense running.

                  Anyway back to the topic. Floyd has the best defense i've ever seen. He's the only guy i've ever seen who can stand in the middle of the ring shoulder to shoulder and not get hit. His instincts and reflexes are sickening and he's very intelligent in the ring. He knows exactly when and what kind of punches his opponents are going to throw. He's as close to flawless defensively as it gets.

                      No one is arguing that Nell fought better fighters. Floyd can only fight the people in this ERA. Thast like me saying well Pac is only fast because off the fighters he fights. Pac is fast regardless. Just look Floyd has amazoing defense regardless of whos in front of him. Hes been that way since he was a kid.

                      Pac doesnt have great defense. We all know Hatton fought like a fool that fight. He had his hands at his waist and his head perfectly still. My thing with the Sweet Pea Argument is that he had GREAT REFLEXES. Floyd also has great Reflexes but his defensive style is more textbook. As Floyds reflexes diminish hes still the best defensive fighter today.
