It seems like Victor Ortiz is still the front runner for GBP...

In this video it seems like Oscar still believes Ortiz will be his next super star, and he cuts the talks about Khan really short...He still thinks Ortiz can beat anyone but he states that he will move him towards bigger fights and will make him a world champ this year...btw I heard Ortiz' training is going hard I think he's having a hard time to cut down to 140 cuz last time we saw him at 144 and I think his fight next week will be about the same weight...they want to keep him busy so he can cut weight after that long breakafter the maidana loss...I think that he's growing into his body and they should consider moving him up in weight if he completly dominates campbell...your thoughts?

Moving up in weight might make his chin and stamina better just like it did Khan.

I suggested the same thing after Khan got knocked out by Prescott because of how I saw what it did to Cotto.

He's huge for 140, I want to see him try to get a title before he moves up, but not if he's not gonna be 100%.

He needs to rematch Maidana before he does anything imo.

Oh, and is it any wonder he didn't want to talk about Khan, Ortiz was sitting right next to him.

He's still being my favorite prospect, he will bounce back.

Maidana doesnt want the rematch because he admitted that his only game plan against Ortiz was to brawl and now that Ortiz figured it out Maidana said he has so much to lose and so little to gain for a rematch and that Ortiz just hits too hard...

Well I think Ortiz would win a rematch, he should push for it though, otherwise you know what its like, people will still be bringing it up when hes 30

Yeah, I can believe that. Maidana's body language and the answers he was giving weren't too good.

I agree that he should rematch to but it might happen because maidana has 3 fights before a mandatory with khan...GBP might want Ortiz to rematch maidana to set up a mega fight between Khan and Ortiz and I think that's what they've wanted all along

Yeah, That would be good, i tend to think though, they would prefer to have Khan dominating 140 and Ortiz owning 147, that could happen in a couple years imo.

I am pretty sure Golden Boy want Khan to fight Ortiz so they can keep all the money in house. I am certain they don't want a Maidana Ortiz rematch as an Ortiz loss would mean no big Khan deal. They have guaranteed Khan a lot of money per fight and they will be looking for a return on their investment on that fight. I think the plan is to match Maidana until he loses to get him out of the picture.
