It doesnt take away from the fact that he got in the ring with the best of his era and fought them without any bs
Whitaker was also making peanuts compared to Mayweather. Fighter's of today that are at the top don't haveto fight as much as fighter's of the past because they earn way more. One need not do anything but look at Whitaker today and tell me if it was in his best interest to fight so many wars in the ring. You want to go out of the profession with your faculties still in place. Too many boxers walk away broke and punch drunk after the last bell rings.

None of these jerkoffs that love to see fighters in do or die wars contribute to those fighters retirement funds when all is said and done. Floyd is doing it right and has fought the best guys in every division he has been in. Manny overstepped most of the best guys since leaving 130 with the best being Cotto coming off a brutal KO lost and a very tough fight with Clottey. Only a fool wouldnt see a pattern with this guy.

            • My Goodness!!!

If it isn't Arum, it is Roach, if it isn't Roach, it is Pacquiao, if it isn't Pacquiao, it is Ariza. They just can't get off Mayweather's d***. I mean come on, if they ask you a question about the fight and there is nothing positive to say than say next question. Like when Floyd Mayweather Jr. said he is done talking about Pacquiao he had his chance, now it is on to Mosley. There was no futher discussions.

Every other day there is a post, with one of them mentioning Mayweather. It feels like they promote Mayweather more than he promotes himself. All I know is if I have a fight coming up, that is what I'm talking about. I'm not mentioning the other guy. I'm worrying about my opponent and my ppv success and ticket sales.

Now I see how smart Mayweather is, he doesn't respond to them, because it gives them attention and he wants all the attention to be on him. Everyone is talking about Mayweather vs Mosley, people haven't even consider or notice Pacquiao vs Clottey and that is next month.

Mayweather numbers before Baldy is irrevelant because he was still with Top Rank. His first big ppv when he became a self promoter was with De la Hoya. Baldy was on HBO. The success for that ppv came from both Golden Boy and Mayweather, because Mayweather promoted the shyt of that fight. He did wwe, a lot of talk shows, potrayed his role as the bad guy and did the biggest numbers in ppv history. If you notice all of Oscar's biggest ppv numbers with a star attraction.

And *******s act like Manny wanted to fight floyd, it goes both ways, cause your right, Shane wasnt manny's 1st choice, floyd signed Manny didnt, Freddie Roach isnt ******, any real boxer will expose him like Morales did, so he picks shot fighters that either have to go down in weight, or lost their previous fight. Every argument you bring up against floyd, you can bring up against manny, but floyd already trumped any argument when he signed the contract and Manny didnt. There's nothing wrong as a fan to defend the fighter you root for, but you have to be an equal opportunity hater, and if you say that FLoyd used drug testing as an excuse not to fight when his portion of the contract was signed, then you have to be fair and say that manny must have something to hide because he didnt sign his.

fight people with a chance to win.. i love marquez and he's one of my fav fighters.. but i gave him no chance to win the fight vs mayrunner.. like i said to another dude in here.. not hard to look good vs a jr lightweight in a welterweight fight..
Just out of curiousity was it suppose to be easy for De La hoya a jr middleweight to move down to ww and look good. You can make the same arguments both ways.

Where have you guys been, Floyd won negotioations when he signed and manny didnt. Two superstars, two big ego's different clauses in each of there respective contracts, FLoyd agreed to Manny's cause, why not vice versa. If Floyd used this as a way to get out, then how did he know that Manny was going to refuse his demands, he agreed to all of Manny's. Doesnt it seem like something's up. During the entire negotioation process everything ran according to plan, both fighters were excited to settle the score, and the minute blood testing was mentioned, Manny Random's camp had a million excuses. What you guys dont understand, is that most of us dont believe smokescreens. SO when mayweather announced he wanted to have Olympic Style testing most "american" boxing fans i speak to(i live on the east coast, tri state area) just took it as FLoyd trying to get in Manny's head. BUt when manny refused, and came up with every excuse as to why he wouldnt take random test with a cut off date, it raised eyebrows.
