Mayweather vs Mosley will sell because it's going to be on cinco de mayo week and they will be loading the undercard with latin fighters. once again piggybacking off the fanbase of other fighters.

Margarito-Mosley set a record for fight attendance in the staples center.
Jmm vs Cassamayor was a ppv.

Why do you idiots swear that ppv sales are end-all be-all definitive measure of drawing power.
Really, so why is this fight the headliner then, if its all about cinco de mayo and Mexican and Latino fighters then what the hell is Mayweather Mosley getting top billing for. Two Black guys from the hood.

And JMM-Casamayor did so poorly on PPV I wont even mention the numbers, where was JMM's huge fanbase on that night?

Now 2 questions for you and can you please answer them with a yes or no.

      1. December 2007. Was that Hattons biggest payday at the time?

      2. Did JMM-Floyd outsell BOTH of Pac-JMM fights combined?

      Yes or No Please sir.
your 2 questions contradict themselves from the original question posed.

      Biggest payday is biggest payday.

JMM's biggest payday is floyd. but according to your logic it's skewed because before that his biggest payday was Pacquiao.

so either way....fighters biggest payday do not always come against floyd.

Thats a great thing. You are talking about Hatton right? Good because Floyd-Hatton sold more then Pac-Hatton.

well, usually when you lose, your marketability goes down.. usually..

Pac fought them after money did..

Floyd fought JMM after Pac did and outsold both of the JMM-Pac fights combined.

                What argument?

Hes never been a PPV king.

When he can draw those same numbers in the manner that Tyson and DLH did with unknowns,

then it can become an argument.

Until then, its not even close. Nobody is a PPV king right now.

Oscar himself said Floyd was the PPV King.

because floyd and mosley are the 2 better and better known fighters and it's going to be a good fight. In this recession people like value for their money. 50 bucks for 3 good fights is better than 50bucks for 1good fight. that is where pacquiao and clottey fall short.

and as jmm-cassamayor ppv goes.....there was no undercard, no 24-7, no press conferences, no press tour, not even a countdown show. but it still did pretty well at the gate. and yet you saw the fanbase in his fights against pacquiao and barrera.

I mean, most of the ppl who watched the
DLH fight, were DLH fans, everytime DLH threw a punch the crowd went nuts..
The Hatton fight was a huge amount of fans from the UK
                      --------

He has made some excellent business decisions in fighting these big name fighters with big fanbases..

I mean, I truly believe that if Floyd fought Clottey he'd sell less than manny P.
thats just my opinion.. we will never find this out because floyd wont fight another fighter like that.. only big named oponents (which i cant blame him)
That explains the arena but how did the UK fans order 900k in ppv in the US?
