NO, cause promoters can always buy huge chunks and find a crowd to sell or give them to. So can fighters and anyone else involved in the event. Buying PPV is a decision made by individuals in their home and that is a much tougher sale. IMO, PPV sales is a more accurate way of showing that an individual or the event itself is a draw.

The Hatton fight was a huge amount of fans from the UK

He has made some excellent business decisions in fighting these big name fighters with big fanbases..

I mean, I truly believe that if Floyd fought Clottey he'd sell less than manny P.
thats just my opinion.. we will never find this out because floyd wont fight another fighter like that.. only big named oponents (which i cant blame him)
Whats your take on Pac fighting Hatton, Oscar and JMM just like Floyd did. O and then fighting Cotto who is a big draw himself.

I mean since Floyds opponent did all the work right?

Also can you answer me why with common opponents Floyd outsold Pac EVERY time?

The Mayweather-Mosley fight will sell big because of Mayweather, not because of Mosley. Anyone with any sense could see that (of course that excludes most of the posters on this message board).
that logic is as ******ed as burner's logic.

Mayweather vs Mosley will sell because it's going to be on cinco de mayo week and they will be loading the undercard with latin fighters. once again piggybacking off the fanbase of other fighters.

Margarito-Mosley set a record for fight attendance in the staples center.
Jmm vs Cassamayor was a ppv.

Why do you idiots swear that ppv sales are end-all be-all definitive measure of drawing power.

So explain to us please why Pac didn't sell as many PPV when he fought Hatton, ODLH, and Marquez....why exactly do PPV numbers go up when Floyd is involved?

DLH was much closer to his prime then..
Most fans knew he was damaged good by the time he fought floyd..

Correct me if im wrong, but werent ticket sales doing horribly for that fight leading them to postpone it? Just saying

hmm... but what about when a boxer can get his fans to travel 100+ miles to see him fight? that's gotta count for something right?
