    Recreational drugs or performance enhancers?

Sad, but true, which is why you rarely see coverage of it in your local paper.
I dunno man. Obviously I'm biased but I look at boxing as a major sport. It's more deeply ingrained in pop culture than just about any other and it's big events are almost universally anticipated. A lot of cash to be made at the top of boxing too.

I don't disagree with you, but to the majority of the nation,

        its a niche sport.

They test for all kind of drugs now in tennis, someone like Nadal doesnt like the privacy part but they have no choice.

Performance enhancers. I think the excuse/explanation was that it was to recover faster from injury.

So I was just wondering if anyone knows of any major sports besides boxing where they apply neither blood nor random testing.

And I'm not trying to incite a flame war, I'm genuinely curious and can't be arsed to wade through Google results.
mma , kickboxing , muay thai , etc. to my knowledge in the u.s. would have the same kind of tests as boxing.

like boxing those sports are handled by state commissions.

people need to realize incorporating that kind of thing will be difficult.

boxing has no ONE governing body.

it's not like the nfl , nba or mlb.

It might be difficult to enforce universally but I think it'd be achievable at the top level/in the major locations.

If a 3rd party anti-doping organisation had the backing they could do a lot of damage, so to speak.

testing has nothing to do with being a major sport or minor sport.

it has to do with how the sport is set up.

boxing doesn't have one governing body to set it up.

how does one go about random testing for boxers?

usually it's up to the state commissions.

usually boxers don't train in the state or even country they're fighting in.

usually boxers don't live in the state or country they fight in.

it's very hard until you can bet boxing under ONE governing body.

it'll be hard even with one.
