It's not a bad idea at all, it's hard to hit Abraham clean on the chin/head due to his good defense and his body is exposed at times. I'm looking forward to this fight, I'm backing up Abraham but at the end of the day, styles make fights. Andre has the style to beat Abraham since Abraham can get sloppy with his punches and isn't the most technical and fastest guy around. I don't know if he can catch Dirrell flush, we will see.

dirrell just needs to stay in the orthodox stance and stay on his stick. he can win rounds with that jab alone.
i notice when he switches southpaw he's more looking to counter, either that or he throws wild, lunging lead lefts. his southpaw jab is virtually non-existent vs orthodox fighters. he just paws with it.

IMO, he looks MUCH better orthodox and pumping that sharp jab. mix up the jab to the body and head, occasional 1-2's, counter and turn AA with left hooks.

i honestly think the "going to the body" talk is a smokescreen. dirrell wont risk leaving himself open like that.

Mixed views on those tactics. He should use his high guard, beat Arthur to the punch, accurately targeting his body, getting him to lower his hands and open up for the head shots. That's a good plan.

But...Abraham has an equally tough body and he holds his elbows straight to his body covering most of his chest/abs and his head. His guard really is that tight.

Furthermore by being on the run less as Andre plans, and standing in the centre of the ring more, that has to favour Arthur. A target close up in front of him to hit, is to Arthur like gold dust. That to me has a 5/6th round King KO written all over it. Once he gets a little fed up of Dre and has figured him out, timed him better, he'll catch a still reasonably in-experienced Dirrell hard. If Froch could land with his accuracy and speed, it's simply un-avoidable the King won't.

I think Dirrell will take the early rounds and Abraham the later rounds. It depends on how much Dirrell runs and whether Abraham can land anything big on him.

Seriously, i like defensive fighters and counter punchers, but there's being defensive and then there's running and Dirrell does a whole lot of it, it's like he doesn't want to fight.

Dirrell's going home in an ambulance. He will just end up as another abraham youtube highlight video.

My only concern with Dirrell is his defense habits when he moves/jumps backwards-he raises his hands up and has his face out-that is not good for Arthur's left hook-very dangerous (think of the early round against Froch, when Dirrell got hit with a Froch left hook and notice Andre's reaction).I believe he needs to avoid Abraham's body and crack him with fast left hooks around Arthur's guard-to the temple.Dirrell also needs to avoid his ducking jabs to the body-it leaves him open to counters.
Dirrell needs to stay on the outside when Arthur opens up his flurrys and throw quick 1-2's to the face, then either stay on the outside or move in and smother Abraham.
Abraham also has a real chance to ko Dirrell, that is why Andre needs to clean up his defense, keep the fight on the outside and at a slower pace-no engaging in wars...should be an interesting fight.
