    Miguel Cotto: The Real Shiznite!

Tito Trinidad jest lost a one sided fight from Winky Wright. Most peeps here say he should retire. I dunno bout that, but we'll see!

Kermit Cintron jest got KOed by Antonio Margarito last month. He can comeback, I don't doubt that, but who does Puerto Rico turn to now?

MIGUEL "ANGEL" COTTO that's who. I dunno what' the general impression of boxing scene bout Cotto, but in my view Cotto is the ****! I have good reasons to believe that he will own 140lbs division next year! Believe that!

Cotto has all the qualities to become the next PR star. Not only that, but right now he will be expected to become our national hero after Trinidad's horrible loss. I'll be rooting for him like crazy.

I think that he will eventually be the top dog in the division and will also go up in weight to get some more belts.

Why do you have to "turn to" someone new all because your fighter loses???

I have an idea; why don't you stick with Trinidad & Cintron and root for them to learn from their loses & re-emerge better than ever.

I've actually become a fan of certain fighters only after seeing them in a losing effort. There is something courageous about seeing a fighter pour his heart out in a losing effort.

I became a Vargas fan after he fought Trinidad. I was a Corales fan & was shook for a week after seeing him lose to Mayweather--look at him now! It's pretty satisfying to side with a fighter through his bad times only to see him comeback to be victorious. Much better than a bandwagon follower.

If you are referring to me then you should know me before typing something like that. I have been following Cotto for some time now and when I say that he could be the next star is because I've been thinking that for a while. It also does not take a genius to know that Trinidad was only planning on having a few fights and he might even retire now. Don't assume that I am a casual boxing fan or a bandwagon dude without getting to know me first.

I'm a big Corrales fan, I think he has excellent boxing skillz and has a lot of heart. I was really dissapointed with the snide comment that Larry Merchant made in the undercard fight of Zab and whoever the bum was that he fought. He asked Corrales if the guy Zab was fighting could spit out his mouthpiece after getting knocked down and get a few minutes extra rest too like he did. That's just cold blooded right there. Corrales knew he pretty much had no chance to win the fight after the knockdowns. It was either knockout or nothin. So he had to do something to give him the extra few seconds to catch his second wind and get his feet under him before he made a last ditch attempt to win the fight. That's just good strategy, killer instinct, and pure cojones to do that and not give up after being almost knocked out. Shame on you Larry Merchant.

Anyhow, back to the topic. I agree with the bandwagon comment. You have to stick with you fighter no matter what the outcome, if your a true fan of that fighter. Boxers are not superheroes. Anyone can hit the canvas at any given moment. I still respect and love Tito now just as much as I did before he fought Wright. He's fighting the top competition out there and you can't down a man for doing so. If he gets beat by a better fighter, so be it. But you still gotta show love and support admist all the scrutiny and nay-saying and negative comments that will probably be flung your way. If your a TRUE fan, fickle is not in your vocabulary.
