I dont think anyone is dis*****g the decision to strip him, but its ludicrous to say that he's been ducking fighters at 175 when he's taken out the upper tier of the division and is now working on the lower tier.

It had everything to do with the thread! IDK what to think of Montiel,he's incredibly inconsistent but, I got hasegawa by a mid round stoppage. Hozumi would be just too quick, skilled, and tough for Montiel.

well, hopefully tavoris cloud beats glen johnson, that way cloud will then be #2 and Dawson #1. They can fight for two belts and the winner would also be named the true champion of 175.

I think Hasegawa will take it as well.

It's pretty cool that the JBC and WBC are going with it....

it wont be an unification bout tho, the japanese boxing commission doesn't honor Montiel's belt or some **** like that.

Yeah, Japan doesn't recognize the WBO or IBF.

However, I read that if Hasegawa wins, he'll be stripped of the WBO and Eric Morel will become the champion.

If Montiel wins, he'll be the unified WBC/WBO champion.

I'm not really sure. An article here said it's being worked out, but another site said terms have been agreed to.

I'd just take it as it's being worked out....
