He didn't deserve to be champ because he wasn't giving his mandatories a shot at his title. It goes both ways. Tarver and Johnson had no problems giving an up and coming guy like dawson a shot, yet Dawson didn't want to give a up and coming guy like cloud a shot (especially considering Cloud actually earned his shot by beating woods.)

Bottom line is that he deserved getting stripped. Boxing is a sport of being giving opportunities, then giving others opportunities when you in the same postion as champs before you.

I guess Chad is just supposed to fight him for less in and empty bingo hall as opposed to fighting Pascal a more notable guy since HBO said no to Cloud because Cloud is unknown outside of hardcore fans.

Its Cloud's own fault he didn't get a shot because he is a 20 fight rookie with only 18 unknowns on his resume and 2 past prime gatekeepers, yet only sees fit to fight about once a year.

Trust that Cloud will get his schooling should he get past Johnson but its unfair to blame Dawson when it is more Cloud's fault than anything that he didn't get that fight.

Its Cloud's responsibility to make himself notable and at least worthy in a network's view other than ESPN to air his fights......he was too inactive and if he was more active and winning impressively maybe he would be more notable and some kind of a draw at this point.

Im just looking at the decision to strip him through the eyes of the sanctioning bodies, hence me saying "playing devils advocate". This is how the sanctioning bodies look at the situation.
