Should he be denied a licence to fight?
let him fight Hopkins and then Retire...

You have tons and tons of journeymen out there getting KO'd and taking a huge amount of punishment everytime they step into the ring. Those journeymen take more punishment in less than a year than Roy has been taking in his whole career and they can also fight 10-15 fights every year.

I never heard anyone being worried and saying they shouldnt be allowed to fight, because at the end of the day nobody gives a damn about them. If RJJ should be denied a licence to fight then so should most of the journeymen.
I agree with you man. I should have added that to my message. Lots of boxers should be denied licences. There was a guy fighting the other night on the Wembley show here in London and he's lost like 70 fights.

That's insane, but unfortunately he's not the only one. There are way too many boxers out there just like him.

He's still a good boxer. He has just reached the point in which he says **** it and scramble all the money he can from his name before he retires. I don't think 40+ Hopkins who usually hunts a UD is gonna be the one who puts Roy in a wheelchair.

Roy is a man. A man can make his own decisions. He dosen't need extra mothers telling him whats good or not for him. The man has through his own hard work made himself fighter of the decade and will be remebered when we are all dead. He can decide for himself if what he is doing is worth the risk. He will be the one living with the consequences.

                  Absolutely!!!!

But, rarely do the boxing commission do the right thing - especially when dollars is in the equation.

hell no. He hasn't shown any signs of being punch drunk or anything like that. He can still beat a lot of fighters.

I think perhaps there needs to be a stricter criteria though, maybe if say someone gets knocked out (actually knocked out, not ref stopping fight) like 3 or 4 times in a row there needs to be some serious consideration on denying one's license.

A lot of this is because it's roy jones. If it were some average fighter no one would have this conversation.

No. i think jones has earned the right to make the call himself. if evander holyfield, george foreman, julio cesar chavez, & meldrick taylor could fight as long as they did, i think roy should be also afforded the chance to as well.
