  • Comments Thread For: No Time Like Next For Donaire-Darchinyan II

By Jake Donovan - He came, he saw, he conquered the fighter put in front of him like the professional that he is.

It’s now time to start putting better fighters in front of Nonito Donaire – beginning with an old foe.

Assuming he has his arm raised in next month’s title defense on Showtime, there’s no reason why Vic Darchinyan’s next fight shouldn’t a rematch with Donaire, the first fighter to hang a loss on his career.

Surely, a song and dance will follow, along with several other reasons being offered why what others want doesn’t necessarily fall in line with what promoter Top Rank wants to give them. We’re forced to accept the carrot on the stick that has become the maturation process for what we hope to be a future showdown between undefeated featherweights Juan Manuel Lopez and Yuriorkis Gamboa. I hope the re-match is next, I predict the same result as the first fight.

Donaire is very well developed, and it's time to step up in competition

i really dont see the reason for a rematch,,he won good,it wasn't a controversial decision,he ko'd him...i think donaire should just go up in weight since he says he can't keep coming down anymore, arum was talking about donaire vs montiel in may, that would be better than with darchinyan, then theres the winner of perez(the one who beat agbeko) vs abner mares...a lot of good fights at 118

Yeah, they should have a weekly 24/7 about Darch that lasts literally as long as his lifetime.

i wanna see darchinyan get ko'd again, they need to fight the rematch! nonito needs to start fighting tougher dudes, dudes his size, or bigger guys. he has the skill, and i think he'd look and even fight better a few weight classes above where he's at right now.

i haven't seen darchinyan improve since getting beat, he just got his confidence back up and it's over powering some of the guys he's fought, and when it didn't, he lost.

donaire by 6th round ko this time, darchinyan is going to be a little more conservative this time around until he gets impatient with the fact that donaire is more patient then he is............
