Its pretty even to me, Maybe Tzyu has a slight edge but is very close. Mayweather gets a ****load of points from boxrec from beating Castillo and Corrales, and his wins over Castillo were very controversial.
Cheers for digging out that info...

They both have a good career, and have both faced some tough fighters.

I would however lean towards Kostya Tszyu. The "inbetween" fights they have are the reason...

Kostya's are of a higher calibre.

Why has it been so long since Mayweather fought a TOP fighter? I think the last big fight he had was against Jose Luis Castillo. Since then he's just been coasting. And I don't really see Gatti as a TOP fighter either. Gatti's great and been in some memorable fights, but I would rank the Light-welterweight division like this:

    1. Miguel Cotto
    2. Kostya Tszyu
    3. Ricky Hatton
    4. Floyd Mayweather
    5. Vivian Harris
    6. Junior Witter
    7. Auttro Gatti

So I don't think Gatti's gonna really test Floyd. He should fight one of the others!

um.....how can you rank Cotto above Kostya Tzyu Ricky Hatton Vivian Harris Arturro Gatti Floyd Mayweather. Cotto is still an up and comer and he has got 1 quality coming against chop chop corley. I think you might need to reconsider this one. And Cotto got hurt in the Corley fight.

I think GAtti has a chance against Mayweather. Yeah, he is a big underdog but he can really crack the left hook to the body in a way Floyd has never felt and his handspeed and boxing skills are underrated.

I genuinly believe that Cotto is the Best 140lb fighter today, And this is coming from a BIG Ricky Hatton fan!

I'd favour Cotto over any fighter at 140lbs, yep that includes both Mayweather and Tszyu!

And the Corley fight was the BEST thing that could have happened to him... He know's he's not invinsable now, and he dealt with adversity in excellent style. He didn't panic... He just took his time to clear his head.

LOL Reid also used to shag a 'glamour model', shes a right dog too, Teresa May - nasty old thing,.
Anyways onto the fights i've seen Lacy fight a few times and most recent against Sheika and Williams, not too impressed against sheika but liked what i saw vs williams. Vanderpool is a ok fighter so he deserves credit for that imo, basically i like what i see and thinkhe's getting reid at the exact right time, reid has looked less than impressive, imo, for the last few fights (and that includes the IBF/WBA title robbery). I think he's def on the way down.
But if lacy stops him easy or dominates then thats a good result, Reid comes to fight has a strong punch and good chin, his balance is going, and he whinges alot now and is getting slower and not aswell conditioned but still is a good man to beat.
I hate Calzaghe but am a realist and untill someone kicks hiss ass he's no1 at 168, and I've only been impressed with him on a small no of occasions.
Eubank was shot and killed himself to make weight at short notice - but fair play Joe did a job on him.
Imo ther reid fight could of gone either way.
He impressed me vs Sheika and Mitchell, however did get KD vs Mitchell and i believe Lacy hits harder than Mitch does.
He looked ok vs Woodhall, then most of the other fights were easy wins for him, veit re-match was **** imo, he should of ko'd earlier, and he looked terrible against Salem. However did have alot problems with a bitter break-up from his wife so can understand the below par performance.
i really think Lacy - Calzaghe is pretty much a pick-em, Lacy has power, youth, pressure and a pretty good chin. Calzaghe has good handspeed, good skills, southpaw, good chin, more experience.
I don't think its an early night for either, if a stoppage happens i reckon it'l be in about 9 rounds.
My heart says Lacy late KO or TKO or Calzaghe on points by about 3.
I'd prefer Lacy to win though

Actually it was on the first page when I googled his name. I was going to put a strait picture of him in my sig underneath the existing statement.

He would fit the role of a bodyguard in a slightly gayer version of Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze.
