BoxingScene.com was informed that former undisputed junior middleweight champion Winky Wright is close to finalizing a promotional agreement with Top Rank. Wright is parting ways with Golden Boy Promotions. Top Rank CEO Bob Arum is laying out a plan for Wright to be in position for a possible meeting with WBO/WBC middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik by the end of the year.

you watch boxing? cause sergio gave winky a very tough fight, inn my opinion won and winky got absolutely shut out by pwill. and i like winky but on top of all that, the guy just doesn't knock top opponents out, he decisions them or sometimes loses.

Arum has got to be the most opportunistic promoter alive. Everytime he was asked about putting Pavlik in with Winky in the past he totally froze Wright out of that fight and he probably had a lot to do with Wright and Margarito not fighting each other when they were interested in it. But now that he signs him, he is gonna get every fight in the world now that he's old, inactive, and probably way past his prime. I can't stand Top Rank.

What else could GBP do for Winky? They gave his ass the Williams fight and he got slaughtered. Theyre really is no one else around those weights that he wants to fight except Sergio & Pavlik but Sergio wont fight him because the money isnt there. He's basically turning his back just because Top Rank has guys like Pavlik, Cotto, & Margarito while Winky is thinking of moving back down to 154.

Its like people use to say about Death Row. They had Snoop, Dre, Da Dogg Pound, but Suge was like *** them when he got his hands on Pac. Them Nig-gaz got put on the back burner. Same **** is happening with GBP and all of the fighters are mad. They got Floyd, he's bring all the pub & money, and they are like **** Winky, Hopkins, and Shane, lol

Still though, all these guys got big fights so they shouldnt cry. Arum doesnt want to do anything for Winky. He just wants to use Winky as another feather for his own guys. Its like what Nacho was saying about JMM fighting Khan. Arum knows that Pavlik has been called a ducker and wont fight guys like Williams so now he has another guy he cay buy time with for Pavlik to fight

50/50 fight. Might even favour Pavlik to ovewhelm Wright with his workrate. At 160 Kelly is alot bigger than Wright. Good matchup though.

doubt it.....Martinez is too fast coming in and moving out with his feet......interesting fight, but at 154 and 160 i would take Martinez to beat Wright. Wright is old and has been far too inactive in the last 3 to 4 years. I realise his style allows for large inactive periods, but not to the extent that we have seen.

Boy oh boy do I dislike Arum, but I must say good move by Wink. He had to do something to get his career rolling again. I hope this pans out because I do believe he still has alot to offer from 154-160 besides name recognition. He still is one of the best pure boxers in the game. Hopfully his next fight is against a live opponent,because we know how Arum operates when he is trying to set up a showdown. It does Winky Know good to fight a stiff while Pavlik and Martinez do battle. My hope is that at some point he does get Pavlik in the ring while he still has something in the tank.
