    PRIME Tyson vs Holyfield

Who would take this, at their absolute peak? say 88' Tyson vs early 90's Holyfield? would the outcome be the same? discuss

I really cant pick a winner in this one, Tyson was a beast back then, but then again, can you really pick against Holyfield? the man has done wonders in the ring. 50/50 for me

I voted Mike Tyson but on FNR4 teddy Atlas says that Mike gets disheartened if his punches don't really hurt his opponent. In fact, one time it was so bad that Mike wanted to quit on the stool because he couldn't hurt his opponent. AND HE WAS AHEAD ON THE SCORECARDS !! I think we have to keep in mind that Evander probably won't get really hurt and therefore theres a big chance Mike will get disheartened.

I think Holyfield would've still beat him.
I think Holyfield is and has always been just a horrible fight for Tyson. Physically he's stronger (not a harder puncher, but physically stronger) and he's going to push him back. Tyson wouldn't be able to hurt him and the harder he went at Holyfield, the more Evander would've been able to hit him.

In Tyson's prime, at his absolute best, maybe he goes the distance, but I'd go with Holyfield for the win at any time.

I voted for Evander. If they fought at Tyson's absolute peak (Spinks fight) then the fight would last more than one round like the Spinks fight did, and Tyson's incredibly short prime would come and go during the course of the fight. In the later rounds, Tyson would no longer be at his peak, and Evander would be able to take advantage of this lol
Seriously though, Evander to me is just too physically and mentally tough to lose to Tyson. Mike IMO didn't have the big power Bowe had and therefore probably couldn't have seriously hurt Evander. To me, that would be Tyson's only shot at winning, so...

tyson with an emphasis on actually training, speed, defense and combo punching beats holyfield.......he showed no D against evander in either fight....not enough movement coming in.....and not enough speed......the young iron mike was a much better version than the one in 1996 IMHO and the one in 03 against Lennox...forget about it....about 30% of what he was.

People mistake Tyson for a brawler.....he became more of a one punch brawler after jail...before that the empahsis was on speed, movement and combos......early mike was actually an incredible "BOXER" not brawler........

But he couldn't seriously hurt Tillis and had to go the distance. Which Evander are we fighting? The one that fought Cooper? Dokes? Foreman? Bowe?
Evander had quick hands himself and put punches together well, as well as having a very complete arsenal and a granite chin. On top of all that, he never gave up the way Tyson seemed to in every tough fight....
