Future of Boxing: Andre Ward

Ward looked pretty good last night. There wasn't a lot of clinching and when there was, it was mostly initiated by Abraham. One thing I've noticed is Ward needs to throw his straight right hand more. He's very good with his left, being able to throw it from any angle, but the right hand is only thrown occasionally.
Ward also has a weakness towards the jab. I think Froch might be pretty competitive vs Ward. I'll still pick Ward by competitive UD, but Froch will give him problems he hasn't seen before.
The thing about Ward, what makes him elite is he is able to adapt. He can go towards different gears and it really sets him apart from fighters like Bika, Abraham, and even Kessler. Kessler is very good at what he does, but he can't adapt to the other person's gameplan for ****.
I thought Ward looked pretty good last night. Showcased his talents and also showed some of his weaknesses.Comment

best SMW in the world and my pick in the tourney. He combines the skill and tacticality of BHop with the speed and athleticism of RJJ.....of course not as much of either but you catch my drift. His style is a hybrid of those guys, very impressive and still very young. He can be a GREAT fighterComment

I will give Ward this, no one's really pushed him to have to dig down or step his game up yet.
There could be more than meets the eye, but Abe is made for a guy like Ward. I thought Froch's performance was a lot more impressive because he showed dimensions we weren't aware that he had.Comment
