The parallels between Mayweathe/Pacquiao and Ali/Foreman

Anyone else see it this way?

Foreman like Pacquiao, king of his day, Devastating knockout power, Destroys common opponents worst than Ali did just as Pacquiao did with Mayweathers common opponents.

I just believe Mayweather would easily outsmart Pacquiao and defeat him

I believe Mayweather would have FAR much trouble with Mosley than he would with the dominating Pacquiao

Mosley MAY be Mayweathers Frazier. Just possibly....I still favor Mayweather.

I see what your talking about, but with them both being undefeated, fighting to decide who the true number one is after Mayweather's hiatus ala Ali, and is the true fight of the century, I have to say it is more comparable to Ali-Frazier. Frazier was also a little guy that was knocking everyone out back then too.

Whatever man, the thing is hard for them to face in the ring which the only way to find out. Floyd is trying to put lots of excuse to avoid Pac.

Good comparison actually. I never thought of it like this.

Mosely is a good fighter for sure, dangerous, and even though Floyd and Pac are better ATG's than say Oscar and Mosely, both Oscar and Mosely in primes would beat them IMO.

Mosely and Pac should happen to make it a famous 3 fighter combination.

          Then Pac and Floyd aswell.

I can see Mosely making a huge name of himself here.

Also ego's are here. I think DK had to make both Foremand and Ali feel they had better treatment but they actually had a 50/50 split. Pac and Floyd better let their ego's go.

This is why I love Bradley.

You make some very good points. I would lean towards Ali-Frazier. I wouldn't mind Floyd losing either(the rematch that is). A trilogy like that would be good for the sport.

Good analogy. I see it more like Barrera-Hamed, though. An explosive and fast left-handed powerpuncher gets completely outboxed and befuddled by the more complete and versatile boxer. At this time, not much is thought of Hamed, but if you remember, going into that fight not many gave Barrera a chance. The boxer with the broader fundamentals with the discilpline to execute in the ring won that fight and this is how I see Maywether-Pacquiao going, too. Nothing against Pac, I just think Mayweather wins this one.

um....you know pacquiao knocked out that more complete, versatile boxer right off the heels of that hamed victory right?

The only difference I see is that REAL boxing fans (those of us who had been around the sport for a number of years) were all betting on Barrera to do exactly what he did. I never even gave Naz a chance in that fight. This one is pretty evenly split on who the experts predict will win.
