This tournament is going to help him tremendously. He's not yet a complete fighter. Soon he will become complete and be dominant. I can't wait until he fights Ward.

the ppl who bash him for running probably never stepped foot in a boxing ring themselfs.

dirrell has alot of talent but mentally hes not ready, doesnt mean hes a coward (no fighter is) or anything like that. just means he needed more time in the pro ranks before he stepped up to championship level.

the way i see it we should give him props for giving it a try, all the guys in the super six deserve props for stepping up to the plate and agreeing to a multi fight deal like this.

especially a guy like dirrell who has so much to lose this early in his career. i hope after watching the tape knowing he wouldve won had he pushed the pace more, he will learn from his mistake.

if not he gets knocked out, and maybe eighter way. i just hope he keeps learning from this whole experience bcuz he has the tools to be a great fighter in the future.

He's still young, didn't have much of a career yet (the Froch fight was his first 12 round bout) and he still fights like he has a lot to learn. Give him a few years and he'd embarass everyone in this tournament in a one sided decision or late KO. I guarantee it (as long as Abraham doesn't destroy his chin and begin the shot phase, which is definitely possible).

even though we all know Dirrell won on points, it wasn't hard to see why Dirrell didn't walk away with the belt. If only he had fought the first three or four rounds in the same manner he fought in the later rounds he could have gotten the nod. holding to the point that the ref gets involved is never part of any fighters gameplan. hopefully Dirrell learned from Ward, in that you can spring in to grab and push and punch off, instead of just grabbing or circling. to his credit he did start countering, and looked brilliant. just wasnt enough to take the title. He'll get his shot.

I compare Andre Dirrell's career so far to a young Kobe Bryant(to use a B-ball reference) in his first couple years with the Lakers. He's a guy with a ton of physical talent but has yet to put it all together to a point where it translates into actual boxing "Skill" during a fight. He has HUGE upside. But for now he's slightly "over-rated" in my book. I can't give him all these props based on what he may do in the future like some folks, because he may not do anything special. The fights I've seen him in haven't blown me away. Which is frustrating because you see the physical talent there( the athleticism, speed, strength). You Just wish he'd put it to use.

I've been impressed thus far but I think his next few bouts will tell us more than all his whole previous career!

we've seen him fight the same exact way he did vs froch in previous fights. that is the way he fights. he fights like he's scared and doesnt trust his own chin. i dont know if thatll ever change.

Gamboa, the guy with the early 90's haircut is going to wish he ran when Lopez flattens his ass.

I havent liked him since that horrible hbo curtis stevens fight which is one of the top 5 worst fights ive ever watched and then after that on the showtime super six countdown when he acted like a little ***** when he was next to froch i grew to dislike him even more. even though i dont like his style of fighting or the way he carries himself he did deserve the nod over froch and is talented i just hope aa knocks his ****ing block off.
