  • Comments Thread For: Team Klitschko: Valuev and King, You Can Forget 60-40

BoxingScene.com spoke with Shelly Finkel, adviser to WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, to get his thoughts on the recent monetary demand from promoter Don King, who is negotiating on behalf of Nikolai Valuev. Team Klitschko offered Valuev $1 million dollars for a potential May fight. King countered with a $4 million dollar demand. Klitschko’s side came back to the table with a $2 million dollar guarantee, which might be more money than Valuev has made in any of his previous fights. The offer of $2 million was not good enough, as King, who co-promotes Valuev with Sauerland Event, countered with a 60-40 demand on the revenue. [Click Here To Read More]

They should not even have dignified that with a real press release.

The press release should have just been a recording of them all laughing or HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA over and over again in print would also have been excepatable.

Valuev wants one more big payday, his handlers know that he cant beat Vitali so they want at least make as much money as possible. This fight is just about money, it would be in an big german soccer stadium with over 60000 seats and it would make much money. The only interesting in this fight will be to see how it looks if Valuev gets knocked out.

Smart call turning down 2m. Valuev's career is over. He would have got **** kicked anyways but atleast he would have made good money.

Way to price himself out of the fight. Too bad for him, Vitali doesn't need him, he can still make millions fighting whoever, while Valuev won't get a 2 million payday anywhere else.

I'd like to se if Vitali's jab is as effective if he's punching upwards. King and the giant are delusional or they don't want the loss.

I have to agree. He was likely to lose sooner or later, had he won his last one thinly he could perhaps command 5 mill.

Sadly for him he lost fair and square, they want a pay day and it'll be his last big fight if he takes it. Hence the stubbornness on 4 mill. How about compromise on 3 mill u greedy fooka's, I mean there is a recession on.

He has a rematch clause with Haye. He probably thinks he has a chance of beating Haye, whereas he knows Vitali would KO him and end his career.

I completely agree. They know he can't win.
