I hear all this Talk of Floyd Ducking Margarito

But does anyone honestly think Margarito could have won? Mosley showed what an average boxer with speed can do.(Mosley is great, but not the best pure boxer)

Imagine Floyd's speed and boxing ability against him. It would be embarrassing.

I think Floyd could have won a boring run and shoot fight but that's not the point. The point is that he straight ducked Margarito. Did you see the YouTube video, Floyd almost has a heart attack after Margarito punked him out. He was so peranoid and stuttering afterward that he couldn't even do a simple interview.

Well actually he fought Baldomir instead, apparently for the same amount of money. The Oscar fight wasn't until later.


Floyd would've beaten Tony, of that there little doubt, but it would've been a lot tougher fight than Baldomir, of that there is no doubt.

He fought Baldomir because Oscar left him hanging.

It was basically stay with Top Rank and fight Margarito, or dump Top Rank and fight Oscar. Oscar's the one that stalled on the fight, leaving Floyd no choice but to look for other fights. Margarito at that point wasn't an option because him and Top Rank were done.

At that time, Baldomir wasn't a bad choice because after all, Baldomir was the lineal champ. He had just beaten Zab in his previous fight.
