    boxing to me is like a fringe sport. and i've got no problem with that. i don't care if it stayed that way for the next 20 years, as long as fights are still getting made and people getting paid, it will survive. every sport relies on stars to sell tickets and to get attention.

    boxing has a lot of stars, but you need super stars to get cross over attention. mike tyson was a super star, muhammad ali was a super star, sugar ray leonard was a super star, countless others. the only superstar today is delahoya, straight up. he commands attention, but he's not in his prime and he's on his way out.

    for boxing to be popular again, you need a super star, and he needs to fight a few times a year, not once. i'm sure one will come along. he just has to capture the public's imagination. there's other factors of course, but you need a good fighter that everyone is drawn to.

      hell if you ask me basketball aint been the same since the 90's but it still has its moments//just like boxing we gotta grow and adapt the problem is maybe we're just getting old
