Debatable whether Margarito is a better overall fighter than Kessler. Add that to the fact that Ward ****d Kessler in one of the best performances of the year whereas Williams just about beat Margarito.

That's a good debate, actually. But I'd say Margarito was arguably the best welter of the previous decade. And has some solid wins on his ledger. No harm in losing to him. Particularly when such emphasis has been placed on inactivity (Winky). Granted, Kessler wasn't as inactive but four sparring rounds in a year (preceded by a three round sparring session) isn't exactly notable. But yes, I'd certainly place Margarito ahead of Kessler sans plaster.
