Why are people surprised Marquez turned down a big money fight with Khan?

You're talking about a guy who turned down a fight with Hamed at 126.

A guy who turned down an immediate rematch with Pacquiao at 126.

Someone who turned down a fight with Morales at 130.

A year from now expect Marquez's boyfriends on this site to make threads about how Khan "ducked" Marquez.

When Team Marquez started saying this "stepping stone" statement, it was only a matter of time before the fight fell through. I'm surprised it was too soon. This is the only thing I HATE about JMM's camp, they act like a bunch of prima donnas pouting as if the boxing world OWES a lot to them.

Good riddance and good luck to them finding another money-making match worthy of his caliber.

If JMM doesn't want to be a stepping stone, why the hell did he fight Floyd Mayweather. That's exactly what he was.

This is the same reasoning why the Pac vs Marquez 2 didn't immediately happen. They insisted on a bigger purse split to a guy like Pac who is a bigger draw than a boring fighter like Marquez who can't sell tickets on his own. In the end he was begging Pac even for free. Folks just never learn.
