What exactly has Cloud done to prove he is better than Campillo?

I remember when Lampley was announcing before the start of Dawson/Johnson2 and they showed the graphic displaying the top scene at 175 breaking down top fighters and belts holders.

When Lampley addressed Campillo who had the strap he just "lost" to Shumenov, he referred to him as "just another guy".

I personally have seen nothing in Cloud who everyone is so high on and considers a huge threat to Dawson that would suggest he is better than or could beat Campillo.

At the very least I think an objective fan would admit Campillo is a much more skilled boxer than Cloud even if Cloud clearly has an edge in the power department.

I would really like to see a Cloud/Campillo fight down the road.

I also am sure that if it was announced Campillo would be very overlooked and it would be assumed easy work for Cloud on here by many for what reason, IDK?

Campillo is a PROBLEM for anyone at 175.

Cloud is a deserving contender I dont see why people **** on him.

no one is ****ting on him and he IS a deserving contender, but you got some fans like *cough*Iceta*cough* who think Cloud is a more deserving fighter who brings more to the table financially and legacy wise than Johnson, Tarver, Adamek, and Pascal.

He reminds me of J. Lacy, I'm not saying that he will end up the same way, but they have some similarities. I don't think Cloud has been too hyped yet, but saying that Dawson is ducking him seems delusional, especially for someone who fought Adamek, Johnson x2 and Tarver x2. We'll see how good Cloud is after his fight against Johnson.

So Lampley said that Campillo had the strap, but just lost to Shumenov, who was just some guy?

I don't see why Dawson shouldn't fight Cloud though.

Tavoris cloud is relentless and his conditioning is excellent.

He would murder Beibet Shumenov and leave his ass to die in the ring, not let it go to the scorecards.

Campillo basically fought every round the same against Shumenov. He let Shumenov punch himself out in the first minute of the round and then would outbox him for the last two minutes. If he tried to take a minute off against Tavoris Cloud in every round it wouldn't last 5 rounds.

Campillo has been beaten by lesser fighters than Cloud. He has been knocked out. His new claim to fame is losing a controversial fight for a bogus title to a fighter who has no business even challenging for a title. If Campillo was such a badass he'd have finished that chump off.

No Cloud is not a huge threat to Dawson. Nobody is at 175. Chad Dawson is goddamn great fighter and he will probably be undefeated at 175 for a long time. Campillo couldn't hold his jockstrap so it sure as hell doesn't mean Cloud sucks because he can't beat Dawson.

You see "NOTHING" in Cloud? LMAO.

He is tireless. He is relentless. He is tough.

He may never get the best of Dawson put he would jump at the chance to unify his belt against either Campillo or Shumenov.

That is very hard to say at this point because we can't be sure how good he really is.

I saw some serious skill in Campillo that impressed me, it wouldn't be a gimme fight for Cloud if it happened

Well, he didn't really lose but Lampley just dismissed him like he is of no relevance but I don't see what Cloud has done to proven he is better than him or why he would deserve a shot over Campillo even.

Cloud would overwhelm Campillo. Campillo looked skilled against a completely raw and unskilled Shumenov. Have you watched the fight where he was knocked out? Or his decision loss to a European level champ? How were his skills in those fights?

Cloud on the other hand showed a clear ability to adapt to his opponent against Woods and displayed good defensive movement for someone considered a crude slugger going into the fight. If you watch the fight closely you can see in the 2nd and 3rd rounds Woods starts taking control of the fight to a certain extent by picking Cloud off with short left hooks when Cloud is stepping in. I recall thinking Woods had won both rounds and things looked bad for Cloud.

However as soon as Woods had gained the upper hand Cloud changed tactics and adapted. He started feinting and drawing Woods left hook and then countering him and punishing him. After he started doing that Woods was hesitant to commit and Cloud began walking in much easier. It was a very subtle change but showed a quality that other guys like Edison Miranda and Jeff Lacy never have or never will possess.

If you think Cloud hasn't done anything to prove anything and likewise think Campillo is highly skilled based off a single fight against a relative unknown.... well I dunno why I am even bothering.

I guess for the benefit of others who may read this and take your post to heart.
