Just to be clear I was not affirming Odawg's point rather I was just agreeing that spell checking work before submitting it does not hurt.
I am not picking fault with Mr. Dooley's work at all

i guess it doesn't really matter a great deal as to whether grammar is perfect on this or any other forum, unless of course you've taken the initiative to 'pull someone up' about there's when you're not particularly adept yourself. my excuse is i'm in work and not allowed forum or general 'tinternet' access so my capital letters have to fall by the wayside a bit so that i can get my messages typed quickly!
getting back on track, degale has an abundance of talent and it's not his fault his arrogance and ****iness comes across as being so irritating, mainly due to his lack of brain matter. he's a terrific prospect, even though he seemed to adopt a bit of a tendency to cuff with his shots in his fight with king. if he can lose that, he may well go somewhere in this game.

He's actually a nice guy, met him in a nightclub in Watford. Didn't do the whole VIP thing, was down in the floor with us normal 'plebs'.

My bad. Marky is right, errors pop up in forums as we all work -- any fule kno that (this isn't an error, though, it is a cracking Deep Purple song). Was worried that I'd missed something in the article as I hate errors slipping into published work.

Good to know that I'll be kept on my toes either way!

DeGale would not be laughing much if he ever got in a bout with George Groves. Groves hits a lot harder and the odds are DeGale would get a beating and get KOd. He can make all his silly comments with impunity because he knows Frank Warren will never make the match up. DeGale won't be able to live off his Olympic Gold medal achievements for ever.

perhaps john, although it's a little too early to tell the outcome of that one, taking into consideration the sparse pro experience of the two. degale may well learn to sit down on his punches a bit more as he acclimatises to the pro game.
i'd much prefer groves to win though, purely on the basis of his personality and how he puts himself across in his post fight interviews.
i personally can't stand someone putting on a boxing clinic, only to make a knob out of themselves in the post fight interview, makes me stomach churn it does!!

One thing is for sure however things turned out fighting George Groves would be no laughing matter and joke for DeGale.

I think DeGale is a bit underrated, at least in comparison to the other UK prospects.

It seems that people have been waiting for him to fail since before he even turned pro. I keep hearing that he's arrogant, but from what I've read he's received more negative comments than he's given out. IIRC both Eubank and Calzaghe criticised him.

I don't know if he'd beat Groves or not. Neither have been seriously tested so it's hard to say how they'd respond against someone of a similar level of talent to themselves. But I do think that DeGale will have a good pro career. The amateurs and the pros are very different, but the fact that he won the gold medal suggests that he is capable of giving that extra 10% or coming up with exactly what is needed in a situation, whereas perhaps the other UK prospects (none of whom won gold) are less likely to have that.

I love how people are willing to judge such a young talented boxer after only 5 or so fights. De Gale is great talent. He may not be the finished article yet, but who is so early on into their careers? In my opinion, De Gale has the most potential out of all the Warren stable of boxers. He is quick, agile, skilled, and seems to have a good boxing brain. Even if he hasn't had to use it so far in his career. If he is brought along correctly and matched up against decent names, then he will progress tremendously.
