Comments Thread For: Holyfield-Nielsen?; Woge Goes Pro; M'Baye WBA Shot

Sauerland Event are trying to get retired Danish heavyweight Brian Nielsen, 44, to come back and take on Evander Holyfield, 47. Nielsen, 65-2, retired six years ago worn after a long and hard career and had big problems with a knee that was the actual reason for the retirement. Nielsen tells Danish news agency Ritzau itīs a comeback that wonīt happen until - if possible - he has his knee fixed. The comeback plans have made big headlines in Denmark where Nielsen for years was a superstar.

I think it's for the WBA interim WW championship. Not that it really matters, the real WBA champ is Mosley but you know how the WBA is; the more champions they have, the better they think it is... It's sad but it's the way it is.
Anyways, I have to say I 'm quite happy for Decarie. The WBA crap he will fight for may not be a real title but it still is quite a big deal for a young boxer like him. I hope he'll beat M'Baye and then go for bigger and better things. He's clearly not in the WW elite (though he has a nice style and relatively good speed) but who knows where he'll be in a few years...

Ok, thanks for the info, but that leads to more questions. Mosley is the WBA champ, and so is Senchenko. So now WBA is looking for a third champ at the same weight. So the thieves will take extra sanctioning fees from a third "champion." These guys are more crooked than the mob. I wonder if I can buy a title too?
Next question is, why is M'Baye getting a shot at anything other than a slot in a retirement home. He last fought six or seven months ago for the Euro JUNIOR WELTERWEIGHT TITLE. How is he all of a sudden ranked #2 at welterweight? Even though this is in France, I would be surprised if the boy from Canada doesn't whip M'Baye who, after all, once got slapped around by Gavin Rees.

LOL! Holyfield vs nielson? Saurland offers brian a million euro(around 1.5 u.s).if nielson gets 1 million euro, valuev should at least get 2 million to fight vitali...Holyfield must be getting a couple million.easy payday for evander if it happens.I'd rather see Botha.
