  • Dan Rafael: "Not impressed with Floyd, it took him long enough to fight a legit..."

    From Dan Rafael's Blog (ESPN)...

"With regards to Floyd Mayweather Jr. finally signing a contract to fight Shane Mosley: Don't expect me to gush about it. I'll simply say it's about time he fought a legitimate top-level 147-pounder. After being a welterweight since 2005, it sure took him long enough. He's only doing what he should have been doing years ago."

Haters are easy to spot. Anyone that doesn't acknowledge Floyd's 21 month retirement is a hater. People act like he was boxing between December 2007-September 2009.

Dan Rafael picking up Brian Kenny's slack I suppose since Brian Kenny got exposed holding Floyd to double-standards.

I agree, its almost as though people want to reward him for what he should of been doing along. The only thing that makes the Shane/Mayweather fight a biggy is because of Mayweather reluctance to fight top 147lbs, not that its a great match up. Mosley already lost to Cotto in 07

no need to complain..so far floyd living up to what he said when he returned..he returned for his legacy and is trying to fight the best...jmm-(may have moved up)but is was a tune up against the #2 p4p fighter in the world..then he negotiated against the p4p#1 fight(hopefully this fight will happen this fall or winter)now he's fighting the #3 p4p fighter in the world..no one should be complaining..

Cotto, Williams and Margarito (even though he's been exposed now) would've loved to fight him.

                  He's right.

Cotto's run at welterweight was embarrassing Floyd's. Still Floyd didn't have to do this, he couldve made good money fighting Matthew Hatton or a Jr. welter. Props to Floyd for really stepping up.
