finally just watched the valero fight and he was really impressive. i dont even think we've seen 1/2 of what he's capable of doing. i was just as impressed with his boxing skills as i was when bradley put his on display vs peterson.
bradley still has better boxing skills, but valero's got that great equalizer.
tough call. i'd still like to see how valero looks at 140. maybe put him in against a common opponent like edner cherry.

interested to hear some of ya'll takes on how valero/ bradley matchup physically and in terms of skill.
faster hands? better jab? physicality? better lead hand? chin?
it would seem as though bradley's the more versatile fighter, but again, i dont think we've seen half of what valero's capable of doing.

i hope this aint true and arum/shaw let these guys clean up the division before they face each other. let the match-up build before they jump in the ring together. those 2 look like the cream of the crop at 140 though.

IDK, I don't want to get carried away with Valero.

Lets see him against Funeka, Diaz, Guzman, or JMM before we starting thinking about or giving him a realistic chance against the best 140lber in the world.

Make this fight Mr. Arum...I would love to see this fight, Timothy Bradley is overrated. If Bradley can beat Valero who packs a punch, then I will give him props. Bradley can be slick all he wants, I don't think that he ever fought a guy who can hit as hard as Valero..Valero has hand of steel, this guy has unbelievable power, don't look hard but he knock out people or they quit. I would love to see Valero beat the **** out of BRADLEY...

            Love that little commie, but:

Too much too soon for Valero. Bradley is just as fast, bigger, stronger and highly skilled w/good footwork. Bradley by close but clear UD. Desert Storm doesn't have big KO %, but he's physically imposing @ 140 and won't be bullied by Valero.

For one thing Bradley isn't really all that battle tested either. Holt, Campell, or Witter are not as good as Valero and don't have the kind of speed and power Valero does. And Valero has never fought anybody as skilled and conditioned as Bradley. That's why it's such a good fight.

Maybe Valero needs to clean up the lightweight first. Beat Soto, Guzman, Katsidis or any top 135 fighter then go face Bradley. With him being the top 135lber will make this fight even bigger.

Valero is 28 years old and he needs to cash in while he can. None of those guys are really all that good. They are exciting save for Guzman, but I think Valero beats all of them. Whoever is #2 Valero should fight for the Ring belt, and move up to 140. JMM didn't clean the division out either. So why should Valero?

i agree. LW is a pretty weak division anyways. i wouldnt be mad if he made the jump to jr welter for his next fight, esp if its true he's having trouble making 135.
marquez wont fight him and funeka should be moving up anyways.
135 is weak. he wouldnt prove anything dominating that division.
