On the telecast they were saying DeMarco picked the fight. And I'm sure going into the fight DeMarco thought that his jab would fase Valero so long as he didn't get hit with flush shots.

I think he grossly underrated Valero's skill as we all did.

Don't get me wrong he needs alot of work still, but I think DeMarco thought Valero would be a 1 dimensional caveman style fighter always coming forward and would block punches with his face.

Valero showed a little more technique, moved in and out and might have been faster than DeMarco expected and DeMarco got confused and discouraged.

Oh yeah definitely. Actually even after the first two minutes of the first round I figured he would randomly get hit with a counter right flush during one of the flurries and drop.
