I can only think of Tyson to compare Tua with I guess he'e the closest in that department.
Go back a bit to Louis' era and look at Tony Galento. Nothing like Tua or Tyson of course, but impressive nonetheless.

I believe your power comes from legs and back. Just my 2cents.

someone already mentioned it, but Tyson had huge legs. I guess it looks "normal" to me cuz im on the bodybuilding forums alot haha. but for a boxer, i suppose they are bigger than average.

typically shorter heavyweights will have bigger bodies because of their shorter frame

I think it has to do with the leverage from your legs when you extend your legs when delivering a straight punch, or when you have to turn with your left leg when performing a left hook. Your upper body and lower body all play a role in punching power.

It's interesting but the majority of big punchers in boxing had very thin legs. Robinson, Hearns, G-man, Hawk, I can go on. Goes on to say that being a big puncher does not always have to do with just explosive power.

it would've helped if it was that slap was a hook too

im not sayin your legs dont play a part in it, it is what starts it all, but you dont gotta have big strong thighs to punch hard if you have proper technique and strong abs and shoulders

You see, I'm not the only one who disagrees. Legs have to do a very big part when it comes to your power.
