This comment is as ****** as the one that started this thread.

Judah was one fight removed from THE Welter title. I hated that Floyd took that off the Baldo loss but Judah was still certainly a top CONTENDER to the title he'd just lost. Baldo was the lineal champ; that didn't make him a particularly good fighter as much as a good story but being the world champ would have to fit what you said. Oscar was still a top five Jr. Middle (at least) and Ricky Hatton was the undefeated world champion a whole whopping one division below Floyd.

hell, even Corley and Gatti were both legit top ten at Jr. Welter.

          Gatti was weight drained?...lol
No Pac dont need to take the DLH and Hatton wins on his resume considering he beat the washed up DLH and Hatton better than PBF did. No one would have beat Hatton in 2 rounds.

Corrales was so tall yet fighting in a so light weight so probably was weight drained.
Gatti just werent all that good, so who cares if hes weight drained or not. Morales and Barrera would have smashed gatti to pieces.

Mayweather won foty in 1998 meeting the conditions you asked about.

Once again you're asking questions which say more about what you don't know than their need to be answered.
so let me get this straight, u comparing an up and coming floyd to an already established pacquaio. U holding them to the same standard where 1 is just getting started and the other supposedly already an alltime great!!

What is even your point???? I say pacquaio doesn't deserve to be fighter of the decade. I say pacquiao didn't deserve to be foty in 06. What r u saying???

            • Honestly my fighter of the decade would have to be Bernard, He's the only guy that i basically knew nothing about, but he consistently won and I paid attention. Bernard has overcome so much and never has decisively lost a fight since 93!

I wasn't comparing anything. Your moving target argument doesn't change what you asked. You asked if Floyd could be named FOTY under the conditions you prescribed. The answer is he already did. You didn't ask if he could do it again.

                • you couldn't name a fighter as the fighter of the decade if he retired for several months and fought a bloated lightweight in the end of the decade.

should we start again in counting what a decade is? how many months does it have etc...

His competition was bad in that period; when the best fighter you fight in a span of three years and six fights is corley, something went wrong. It was the worst run any hbo fighter was allowed to get away with since either roy's super middle reign or oscar's protected period between pernell and ike. The retirement hurt as well, taking him out of the game long enough to let pacquiao polish his resume. Had floyd been active, he likely ends up with a cotto or mosley after the oscar rematch, locking pacquiao out below 147.
manny fought no one from 00 -03…nobody really! After the 1st jmm fight he spent 04 thru 06 fighting some guy name battery, over the hill morales and lost, velazquez, washed up morales, larios after a dfeat, and an even more washed morales.

In 03, floyd fought an ndou who was knocking everyone out he fought. He fought chop chop, and gatti . He even moved to another division to fight the undisputed champ in judah.

So by your logic, defending you newly crowned lw title against a guy with crazy kos, moving to another a division and becoming champion, and then moving to another division to make your name there is the worst run by any hbo fighter. But beating up on ol’ washed up morales twice within a couple of yrs is a ok with u…unbeleivebale!
