Not really, it would be a bit of a let down that such a boring (albeit effective) fighter came out on top and was top dog of the division.

      Look at the first knockdown:

Dirrell isn't going to stand in front of him like that. And the second knockdown was how he handle fighters who back up and try in get of the way, that faint with a straight that he knows is going to miss, then a hook...that's AA. And if he wins, that's how he's going to win. I do not think the fight should go the distance for AA's sake.

Apart of me believes that Dirrell is going to come in this fight and let his hands go, and AA is the wrong guy to do that against because he'd get caught.

AA is not boring IMO, just and interesting, slowed down style. He studies his opponents. But if he isn't more aggressive, he won't win the tourney.

Additionally, AA's face when he Ko'd Taylor was priceless.

It was as if he only just realised punches could render people unconscious.

So Hopkins winning the middleweight tourney in 2001 must have been a let down for you...

this seems like dirrell's fight to win or lose...but i say that because AA is still such a mystery...i've seen plenty of his fights and there is plenty reason for people to fear him...but damn...your jaw gets cracked and hangs off your face and you still win the fight? with a story like that on tape...i don't know if anyone can beat him...

I don't see Dirrell outmuscling him in the clinches.

Dirrell can win by ud by cautious activity, but make no mistake about AA, he can throw some compact bombs in close that are one shot ko type things.

He doesn't always loop his shots. There are about 5 youtube videos of him getting off in close and just wrecking the guy.
The shot that iced Taylor was straight down the pipe as well.

His hands seem to be wrecking balls. To win with a broken jaw is epic. He belongs in the HOF for that ****

I didnt watch boxing in 2001.

But if I did, then quite possibly yeah, I'm not a huge fan of hopkins. i like him more than AA, though.
