HBO can build up Maidana as some kind of killer. Then after 2-3 more showcase fights on HBO, they will feed Maidana to Khan in a mega fight for the UK. The slimey limeys will buy it and GBP makes millions of the UK's oblivion.Comment

Gary Shaw is a ****ing hypocrite because of the way he's hiding Dawson from Tavoris Cloud.
Amir Khan has only defeated one top ten guy, Andreas Kotelnik. The same guy that beat Maidana in a close fight in his previous fight. A fight in which myself and others feel Maidana won. That alone could have been and should be enough reason for Khan Maidana to happen, and to have happened already..... I know it was on the Chagaev vs Drummond PPV, and they didn't show the first two rounds, but am I the only one who saw that fight?Comment

Your comments are out of line and ridiculous. It is not acceptable or standard procedure for a television network to make step-aside deals with fighters. Promoters do that occasionally, but it is a conflict of interest for HBO to do that and the anger of fans and those in the boxing community is totally justified. To call fans "idiots" for criticizing this behavior indicates a total lack of class.

Are you having a laugh?
Sport is a BUSINESS.
Manny Pacquiao is being protected right now - regardless of whether he took PEDS - because it is in the SPORT's interest to make as much from him as possible.
Same with Mayweather taking easy challenges or wanting to take easy challenges.
Michael Schumacher - as brilliant as he was - was protected. Why? Because he made Ferrari over $300,000,000 a year in sponsorship money.
Marion Jones was protected until they decided to 'out' her. Many 'top athletes' are on drugs but protected because they are too big of an investment to their promotional teams.
Sport is BUSINESS. It isn't what you deserve, it is what you can NEGOTIATE. The more discerning and astute fans will know this. The ones that can't can cry all day long about what they and the 'sport' deserve.Comment

Why should it happen now? Khan has already faced a mandatory in Salita. Why should he take two mandatories in a row? Klitschko's duck their mandatories all the time, as do fighters in lower weight divisions.
Khan-Maidana in one year will be bigger (and on PPV) than it would be now. It is simple. Why not waait and build it into something alot bigger than just another normal 'fight' on the undercard?Comment
