what would have happened if Corrales had got his wish?

After watching what Diego was able to accomplish on Saturday after being left for dead has anyone given thought to a few years back against Joel Casamyor?

He got beat up early and was cut badly, in round five he stormed back and had Joel in serious trouble...in between rounds he is screaming for "1 more round" which obviously did not happen...but..imagine...

If Diego got that round what would have happened?

After watching on Saturday I gotta bleive that he ko's Casamyor...

I dont..I had Casa winning that fight before the stoppage, and really think that the main reason Diego was able to beat Casa in the rematch was cause he had Gossen in his corner. Who better to tell him everything he'd ever need to know about Joel...and who better to tell him exactly how to beat him..other than Casa's previous trainer? Chico had every advantage in the rematch with Gossen in his corner.

I have always said that Corrales' vulnerability is in itself a weapon.
I won't say he'd have KO'd Casa in that round....but he definitely had a chance.

I agree, his vulnerability is a strength...when you put a guy like Diego in a corner and give him no choices, you "all in" him so to speak he is going to come out biting.

Once Coralles figured out what to do against Casa, he was able to land some good shots. Unfortunatly his mouthpeice was going thought his lip and the fight was called. Coralles may very well have been behind, but he was not out of the fight and had a great chance to win.

Corrales rocked Casa pretty badly at the end of the last round....
Who knows what that next round would have brought ?

But....the stoppage was a good one. Corrales' mouth was destroyed.

I think the dramatic stoppage added to how people look at corrales, i think if he continued and lost the fight we would be worse off, unless he KO'd casamayor of course. i say it worked out as best as it could for him.

the best part about the castillo fight was after the second knockdown goussin told deigo, "you've got to get ****in excited on him now."

it was the best part and worst part...I am still in shock over last Saturday, JL is my boy and I still am replaying things in my mind.

I don't believe that Goosen should have been allowed to say one ****ing word to Diego. When Castillo was knocking Chico down was he going back to his cornermen for councel?

Weeks should have stuck Diego in a neutral corner and gave him his mouthpiece, Joe should not have been allowed to say a word.

Sour g****s from a big JL fan, but hats off to Diego that is one fighter you do not want to corner!
