    ring nerves

    can someone give me advice.....ive recently started boxing training..and when i have to do some sparing i go numb. i loose concentration and my body just drains of all my energy..this is really bothering me...can someone help please

    you have to build up i think your confidence, i can say relax etc. but you ain't gonna be relaxed if you don't enter confident in that ring. so get to no your body, so that whatever happens in the ring you will be able to handle it.

      thanku for that..is it a common thing to be scared before u go in the ring..also i keep thinking about the other person and how much damage he could do to me..maybe its just all in my mind..maybe im defeating myself before i even start

        this is true.... mental toughness sometimes supersedes physical strength.

        take for example the corrales-castillo fight

            i never have that problem ofcourse you know that someone can cause damaga to you, but if you know you stuff, i for example when i spar i never get nervous, that's why i don't get tired fast, no i have no fear at all when stepping into the ring because i'm confident in my ability's, on the other hand you said you just started boxing, so it's normal you should keep training and training hard and you confidence will grow.

                thanku very much..i think your right.its my confidence.so basically you have to belive in yourself and go in with the attitude that you cant be beaten..

                  yep that's the attitude. and like tyson said never be intimiteded by your opponent, regardless of appearence.

                    5ft 8 and just general boxing.no martial arts ect...i weigh about 14 stone
