If Mares keeps racking up the W's and moves up in weight, we may get a super fight between him and Juanma Lopez, I think in 2 to 3 years these 2 will be pretty big stars already.

I agree. Don't know what the outcome will be, but if Abner does beat him, he's the goods.
Mabuza and Agbeko are no joke and Perez put it on both of em, duke can take it and dish it out. It'd be tough either way. Bantamweight has P4P the 4 best titlists though, so there's really know other outlet.
If he wins, he'd have really earned it.Comment

I like this match-up. Some say it's too early for Mares, but what other options does he have? He's a prominent contender who's status as a legit titlist would be answered in this fight.
Even a loss to Perez would be no shame, but Mares possesses some great skills, and it's time he put them to the test against the best.
Perez is relentless on attack, but if Mares keeps composure, i'm sure he he can win a close decision.Comment

Unfortunately, that most likely won't happen.
Though Hasegawa is making a defense of his title in April, there's been more and more talks of him moving up in weight, as he's been finding increasingly difficult to make 118 pounds. So he may not be around anymore.
Also, since Japan doesn't recognize the IBF, that really hurts the chances of the fight.Comment

Oh yeah, I dont expect it to happen. It would be nice, though.Unfortunately, that most likely won't happen.
