If Floyd doesn't fight Mosley he probably does anyways, because Mosley will fight someone and they can use Mosley as leverage against Floyd. Even without that Manny will stay in the headlines while Floyd will be out of the public eye doing nothing to really help his position. Arum does not need to get tricky he just needs to follow through on what he is doing currently and hope no one throws a wrench in the plans.

That is why Floyd has to fight Mosley it is really all about leverage.

marc gasol destroyed the lakers last night.

he punked his brother and bynum.

        got everyone in foul trouble.

then he stopped kobe from getting the game winning shot.

        marc gasol is a beast!

          my take?

roach is trying to emphasize "too much risk , not enough money" in the press hoping mayweather might notice.

          1. if mayweather beats mosley , that ruins a possibility of mosley-pacquiao as an option if mayweather-pacquiao can't get made.

          2. if mosley beats mayweather , pacquiao will lose out on a megafight with floyd.

mayweather-mosley (no matter who wins) is bad for pacquiao/roach/arum.
that is true and i agree with you,i just wanna see some good boxing from the elite fighters

Shane does deserve a big fight no doubt, that is one of the reason I like the fight against Mayweather even though time and again I do not think it will end up as a pleasing fight to the eye. I also think the build-up would be fun.

He does pretty much have to fight Mosley but not for the reasons that most people bring up, it to me almost completely has to do with leverage down the road because Floyd could really not care about what the public thinks of him and besides the people who don't care for him are not going to be easy to convert so why waste time even thinking about that. Leverage against Arum yea Floyd cares about that a great deal.
