Floyd Hatton did a lot of PPV buys because HBO 24/7. No boxing fan outside hardcore fans even knew who Hatton was. Hatton had a huge audience in England and that's it. And the everyday beer drinking white guy vs the loud mouth black guy will always appeal to the American audience.

I think Floyd is great, but when he could of fought guys like Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, Cintron (who was undefeated at one time), Hell even Quintana who was undefeated, Clottey, or Paul Williams, instead he fought Baldomir and Marquez, I can't see how you can defend that.

if hatton was largely unknown, do you think cotto or margarito were known commodities to the american public? c'mon man.

i understand ppl upset b/c mayweather didn't fight WHO you wanted, WHEN you wanted.....but name any other fighter besides hatton at that time, dude could've pulled in 20 million fighting....

shane mosley? ppl were calling for shane to retire, for years now, until he beat margarito....that's the only reason the fight is even marketable now. when floyd fought hatton, please tell me who shane was fighting around that time.....after that, tell me what network it was on, and whether it was cable or ppv. if it was ppv, please tell me the numbers he did (i'm not being a smart-ass, i honestly can't remember).

what floyd has done, has turned himself into the most marketable, and highest earning athlete in the sport. the difference betw. me, and alot of you dudes on this site, is i understand that. what floyd has done has worked for him, so it's easy to understand the choices he's made.....that's why u can defend it. after all this time, i still can't figure out, why you dudes can't understand it.....whether you like it or not.

you make some valid points. Pac went straight for Hatton and DLH when he got the chance just like Floyd did before him. They are money makers. There is a reason Shane wants Floyd and Pac......and not Williams and Clottey!!!!!

To all the Mayweather fans out there:Wouldn't you agree that finally Floyd is fighting not just a good fighter but a legitimate welterweight!!! How can you be in the division for years and never fight anybody from that weight class. Here is a chance for him to back up his words for all the other fights that didn't happen and should have. I think he knows that Mosley poses a real threat no matter what age. If its so easy than sign the contract and make that easy money. I think he got pushed into this fight. Mosley challenged him in the ring old school style after Floyd stated over and over that nobody ever calls him out. Well this is the second time Mosley calls him out. Tell us Floyd what's the hold up or is there a specific number of times you have to get called out in order to take a serious fight. Its not even funny anymore just PATHETIC.
