Does it matter? Joe had said for ages that he was strugglinh to make 168 lbs and you want him to force himself down to fight Pavlik just to make you happy. Dawson vs Tarver II drew a crowd of 911 people and you want Calzaghe to train in his late 30's to fight Dawson for peanuts?

Whether you like it or not Calzaghe is a HOFer and right next to Hopkins on the ATG list.

Why dont you fight crappy fighters your whole career and see how you feel. Yep you guessed it you'd feel like a spring chicken. I mean Calzaghe did lead ALL of boxing in punches thrown.

I agree with the TS. Joke Calzaghe is a bum. hatton has a better legacy then Joke Calzaghe. And Khan is going to have a better legacy then Joke Calzaghe.

You and other people act as if Calzaghe was in his prime when he beat Jones and Hopkins. Why didn't they go to England if they really wanted a piece of him?? Why does it always have to be "come to the U.S.A"???

If Calzaghe didn't have a habit of fighting boxers ranked outside of the top ten and pulling out of fights with injuries when he was scheduled to fight someone decent, then Jones and Hopkins would've been more motivated to fight him. You can't sit there with a straight face and say Calzaghe's 21 title defenses are better than Hopkins' 20 title defenses even though Hopkins is a cherry picker now. Add Lennox Lewis and Nigel Benn to the list of British fighters that had more nuts than Joe did. Burner is spot on with this thread other than the fact that Khan hasn't done anything yet.

Joe Calzaghe did get a lot of premature stoppages and biased refreeing in Wales too. Daggum is 100% right about that.
