i agree i thought sergio won actually. hbo cant make him a draw cuz win or lose he will be getting punished in fights cuz he's easy to hit. to become a draw you have to win big, dominate and he aint gona do that to the top fighters out there. he will be in another war with cintron when they fight.

i digress. to become a star, you have to.....

A) fight in a city where you have the total support if the city

and/or

B) beat big names

and/or

C) have an exciting, crowd pleasing style

and/or

D) have a personality that either makes a lot of ppl love you, or make a lot of ppl hate you.


i think you need 2 of those things tho.


paul williams has an exciting fighting style, but what he's missing is the "home" city, the big names, and he's not very charismatic either.

This is like the dumbest and most hypocritical post I think I've come across in my history on this web site. So win or lose, Cotto has gotten punished and he still has a fan base. The guy in your avatar got nearly KOd by the scrub who Gamboa blew out the water and won't fight a dangerous fighter and he still has a fan base. Williams fought Margarito before Cotto did, and having Wright and Martinez on your resume is nothing to sneeze at. If you're not gonna give Williams any credit for his win over Wright, then you need to not give Cotto any credit for his win over Mosley. It's only fair. And Williams despite his flaws is willing to fight anybody despite Goosen's stubborness with the Pavlik situation. Anybody who hates on him for no reason is not a boxing fan.

He has done that. Hes worked over everybody hes fought. All his fights were blowouts except 2.

I think the Cintron win will be good for him. Especially if he stops him ina a war. His last fight gained him alot of Fans.

We are talking about being a star, and while what P Will is doing is impressive to boxing fans, he is not gonna be a star on that stuff.
