when i watched it the first live, i thought it was close. Dela Hoya was pushing Mayweather and was the aggressor all night.
Floyd would hit Dela Hoya 2 or 3 clean shots per round. So in unbiased eyes, close fight. Never have i watched it again coz it was boring.
Unlike *****s who would watch that fight 50 times and get excited everytime and would say FLoyd schooled DLH. Judges dont have the benefit of replays and slowmos.Last edited by rocky_balboa23; 02-01-2010, 04:53 AM.Comment

Judges shouldnt have to have that benefit. They are supposed to be experts at it and not get caught up in the crap that the crowd does. You call them *****s but it sounds kinda like you were a Floyd hater if you thought everything Oscar was doing was great. Alot of people feel that way and thats why Floyd basically has to flat out dominate because if any opponent does anything minor, the crowd goes nuts, and people fall for that stuff. They dont even be landing clean at all but if someone is coming forward and throws 2 shots to Floyd's arum then the crowd will erupt. I understand that from the mainstream but if you are a hardcore boxing fan then you should be able to see through most of that. Still, your point is takened that maybe it looks better for Floyd the more times you watch itwhen i watched it the first live, i thought it was close. I dont think floyd dominated DLH. Dominating is when Pac made Oscar quit and when he KOed Cotto. those are dominant performances. But pot shotting is not dominating an opponent.Judges shouldnt have to have that benefit. They are supposed to be experts at it and not get caught up in the crap that the crowd does. Although, even if im a floyd hater, I would say he dominated JMM. that's clear domination not the DLH fight.

Dude, thats what I said. I said if he doesnt do what he does to JMM then people will try to say that his opponent won or it was a close fight when they really arent. Also, are you new to boxing? How long have you been watching Floyd? I can tell you havent been watching him that longI dont think floyd dominated DLH. You think thats bad? That aint ****. Wait until the Mosley & Pac fights. Floyd has to dominate or he will be in trouble. Shane doesnt have the biggest fan base in the world but alot of people hate Floyd. Then you have all the writers who hate him and are picking against him. When stuff like that goes on, you watch fights from a biased angle. Now imagine someone with Shane's speed & power. His punches by themselves look good & crazy. He's going to swing alot of **** that looks fast & powerful but Floyd will be picking that **** off with ease. Still the crowd will go insane like he's really doing something and times that by 10 when the Pac fight comes.
If you think about the sport right now, no one else has to face that in every fight. Its like he's giving away 2-3 rounds before the fight starts. Even back in the day cats were doing that. Ever since the Chico fight. People were use to seeing Floyd get it so when someone lands anything, everyone goes crazy. I was watching Floyd-Chavez the other day and everyone still talks about how close that fight was and how Chavez gave him hell. Lederman even scored it close but if anyone watches that fight now, I bet they say that Floyd dominated and it was a masterful performance. He just gets judged differently and no one is allowed to land at all on him. The **** he was doing on the ropes and on the inside during that fight was crazyComment
