I disagree. Marquez has little power/horrible handspeed at 140 and his age isn't helping either. While Khan doesn't have much of a chin, he won't have much to worry about in that category. I can easily see him doing exactly what Mayweather did, and Freddie Roach knows this. I mean look at what happened last time he got an old opponent who gave Pacquiao trouble. He stopped him in 6 rounds (Barrera).
In his prime, Marquez would destroy Khan though.Last edited by BoxerDood; 01-31-2010, 02:26 PM. -

I'm betting on Marquez. (first time I've bet against Khan)
I think he's too clever, and his hand speed/power aren't terrible at 140lbs, just a bit worse than they were down in the lower divisions.
The only problem he may encounter is Khan's mobility. If he can't catch Khan I'm not sure he'll get the opportunity to knock him out as his reflexes do seem a little stunted with the weight gain.
But yeah, I'm going for Marquez and I'm willing to put some points down if anyone wants it. I think Khan will start strong, then get on his bike once Marquez is still there and still putting money in the bank, and finally Marquez will start to get the better of him and sc**** a decision or knock him out late.Comment

i don't think marquez is that sloppy...maybe at 148 like when he stepped in with mayweather...but knocking 8 pounds off and his ability to adjust will be his keys...khan has decent defense...but it's not enough to stop marquez if he continues to move forward...khan would have to be on his back foot the entire night...he'll put up a lot more of a fight than juan diaz...but i really see the fight ending in a similar way in the late rounds...Comment
