  • Ok, I like Floyd, but this was a really really bad interview. Now from what I understand, he is basically jealous of Pacquiao. Which is why he decided to bring up this random blood test. This isn't because of senior. It's because he basically can't believe Manny has accomplished what he has. I remember seeing this video of Floyd cheering his ass off for Manny. Then Manny decides to go murder DLH and Hatton in the ring, and everything changes. Now Floyd is completely against him. Hmmm, I wonder why?

He blatantly ducked Cotto when he "retired". But in this case I honestly don't think he ducked Manny at all, especially being that he agreed to the $1 million per pound penalty of each overweight pound. Also he agreed to fight Shane Mosley, and that's gonna be an even harder fight for Floyd than Manny would have been.....just WATCH!
Floyd had no choice out there but to take on Mosley in order to avoid anymore negative press. After the Manny fallout, his only legit choice was Mosley. I guess an overrated Paul Williams could have been an option but Floyd probably would've complained that he's too tall. Mosley is Floyd's saving grace.

          • Floyd is a moron. 'a fighter doesn't start off like Manny Pacquiao, just ordinary, and then once he gets over the age of 25 he becomes and (sic) extraordinary fighter'

When was Pac ever ordinary? He had two early losses when he was a kid but he was always a huge talent, won a WBC strap after only a couple years as a pro (THE SACRED BELT FLOYD CONSTANTLY BIGS UP), he was a great fighter before the age of 25, he just kept improving, stayed disciplined and kept the same trainer. Floyd is jealous

That's the real story here, my peoples!
Yes he did, and the thing is we all no Manny don't do roids. He is just that EXTRAORDINARY... I seem to recall Floyd jumping for joy when Pac kd Morales.... He wasn't complaining then.

It is not the same thing.
Hopkins was not considered a really world class fighter until he beat Trinidad at the age of 36. And he improved dramatically when he changed his style. The version of Hopkins who lost almost every round to Jones was nothing like as good as the version who won almost every round against Trinidad.

Pacquiao's record up to the age of 25 was far better than Hopkins' record up to the age of 30.

And no one claimed that what Pacquiao has achieved is commonplace. But if you think that anyone who achieves anything that is not commonplace must be on drugs, then by your own logic, Hopkins must be on drugs. If you don't think that about Hopkins then it is serious and malicious double standards to assume that about Pacquiao.

Actually, Hopkins was ranked in the top 10 pound for pound when he fought Tito and had been for many years.

                    • I agree with Floyd about the tests and the will to change obsolete rules.

But I don't know about Pacman. Some fighters do get better with age. Hopkins was a slugger in the beginning. Now he's a boxer. So is Pacman. You're not supposed to get stronger or faster as the years pass, but better, yes you can.
