When Mosley loses to Floyd, will the 15 month layoff be a good excuse?

There will be no excuses for the person that loses. Before Mayweather departure and since his return, people have been yelling all over the place that he needs to fight a true welterweight. Now he's doing that, he's fighting the welterweight champion of the world. But the same people who thought this fight should happen, are not respecting the fact that it's about to happen. Both fighters have had a long lay off.

However, Shane is the champ in the division regardless of his age. It just kills me when these crybabies talk about how scared Floyd was and that he would never fight Shane, then they agree to fight, then all of a sudden Shane is older than Methuselah.
Yet last year ALL the Pac fans wanted Pac to fight Shane Mosley.

This is one of the best welterweights fighting today and he is a welterweight champion: Mosley. This also an opponent who Roach did not want to match Pacquiao with unless Mosley agreed to fight at no heavier than 143. Why was that if Mosley is so washed up? By the same token, Mayweather is no longer in his fighting prime either. In a nutshell, it's pointless to talk about whether this is the best Mosley when this is clearly the best welterweight fight right now.

Mayweather is really smart, he waited for the old version of Mosley before deciding to fight him.

              Too old and too late...

Lol. Totally. Floyd is a professional fighter and one of the best there ever was. There is no physical cowardice in him nor in any pro fighter. It's an oxymoron.

What I object to are those that contend that this fight absolves Floyd of all prior ducking sins. If Floyd wants to associate his name with Robinson and Ali and Leonard and Duran etc, he needed to clean out WW before they all kicked each others asses and moved up and got suspended etc...The WW div he's gonna' clean up now is not the same one as when he 'retired'...To me PBF is the most catastrophic waste of pedigree and talent the sport has seen in my lifetime. I mourn his potential. It's sad and i don't know if the competition exist anymore for him to make it right. God is probably disappointed in him.
