  • Finally

Floyd finally face a real welter. Good fight! By ducking Manny he had no choice but to take on a marquee boxer. Now,he'll be facing a more dangerous Mosley for a lot less money considering he calls himself money. If Mosley doesn't get old overnight,he'll beat Floyd with his jabs & body shots.

Mosley was offered a fight with Cotto at Madison Square Garden to take place on 13 June 2009, but he turned it down on the grounds that Cotto would have home town advantage there, and he was worried that he'd be robbed. He said he'd rather wait until a fight could be made in LA. So Cotto offered Clottey the same date instead.

He did but he wanted to fight Cotto in the Staples center and Cotto wanted to fight the night b4 the pr parade in MSG like usual but Mosley thought since he beat Margarito that he could call the shots and ended up screwing himself out that fight

How Can age and inactivity not be a factor?

I see it like this, IF it is a close fight that Floyd wins a competitive fight(It doenst have to be that close, but rather competitive), then is a legit win. If it i a total domination or hut out or if Floyd KOs him, I cant view it a legit. Because theres no way in hell that Floyd KO or simply shuts out a close to his best Shane Mosley, let alone a prime Mosley.

              That How I see it!
and most actually thought corrales(r.i.p.) was going to ko floyd.shane is a good fighter but he has no true defense and he takes waaaaaayyyyyyyy too many punches. i just dont see this as a hard fight for floyd. i have floyd by late round stoppage

              • the only person Mosley openly ducked was Paul Williams and Mayweather in the past... For those who dont believe me watch the interview he had with Larry Merchant after he fought Vargas the first time

My question to you is who did Margarito have on his resume at that point? Kermit? I think Baldamir being the linear champion and beating Gattie and Judah would give him the better resume on those two fights alone. If you are talking about who would be the better competition then thats a different story. I would think Margarito would be able to give a slightly better fight but he would be taught a boxing lession in my opinion. The only question people would have wouldnt have been about boxing skill it would Floyd have been able to take all his shots(quite possibly with plaster lol). Again I think Floyd would be able to outbox Margarito.
Thats all I needed to read. I knew someone would bring that up. That loss was at 154, and had nothing whatsoever to do with 147. Period.

On the bold and underline. Did you know that Margo was supposed to fight Mayorga after the Forrest rematch? Then Spinks? Then Zab? Then Baldie? Every person that held that belt was approched by Top Rank. They all turned Margo down (high risk low reward). You can't make people fight you. The funny thing to me is, people always talk about Winky, and how he was ducked for so long, but when you talk about Margo, no one believes it. Crazy.

So to answer your question, Six heads (a legit fighter and champ), Diaz, Martinez, Gomez, and yes Cintron. Also Clottey after Floyd moved on. So yeah, the man was legit. At the time.

Looking at that fight again Cotto totally dominated that fight. Mosley had like 0 anwsers for Cotto. I don't see how anyone can think Mosley won that fight or say it was close.
